Director at Alex Brown, a Division of Raymond James

Pryor began his financial services career as a Merrill Lynch advisor trainee in 1991, in Tysons Corner, Virginia. He then spent two years as a financial advisor with Smith Barney and two more with Morgan Stanley before joining Prudential Securities in 1998, first as a trainee manager and then sales manager, regional development manager and, ultimately, as a branch manager in Carmel, California. When Wachovia acquired Prudential, Pryor continued to serve in several roles: national director of Profit Formula, national director of recruiting and then Richmond, Virginia, complex manager.

In August, 2006, Pryor returned to Merrill Lynch where, for the next seven years, he served as complex director, first in New York’s Manhattan East complex and then in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was recognized with the firm’s 2011 Complex Service Quality Award and appointed as a director of the Merrill Lynch National Advisory Council to Management (ACTM). In 2013, he was recruited to RBC Wealth Management as the Portland, Maine, complex director where he oversaw six offices.

Steve joined Alex Brown, a division of Raymond James, in January of 2017 as the Regional Executive for the Boston marketplace. He was recognized as the Alex Brown Regional Executive of the year in 2018 and sits on the Advisory Board to Leadership for Raymond James. The Boston office of Alex Brown currently includes 28 client advisors and 20 administrative associates, with approximately $4.5 billion in assets under management.

Pryor earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in government from Wesleyan University and conducted graduate studies at Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business. In addition, Steve recently concluded an executive leadership program at the Columbia Business School in NYC.
